Three steps, straight from this page.
Tap the button above. The file lands in your Downloads.
Open the downloaded file. Android asks once whether to trust installs from your browser — say Allow.
Press Install, then sign in. Updates arrive inside the app, so you only do this once.
A television's own browser cannot save files, so the download is done by a free helper app called Downloader instead. This is the normal way to install an app on these sets and takes about two minutes.
Search your TV's app store for Downloader — the orange icon by AFTVnews — and install it. It is free.
Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and switch on Downloader. On Android TV the same switch sits under Settings → Apps → Special app access.
Open Downloader, type the address below into its URL box and press Go. The download starts on its own.
When it finishes, press Install, then Done. Delete the file when Downloader offers — the app is already installed.

The Silk browser on Fire TV answers “Downloading not supported at this time” to every file, so the app cannot be fetched with it. Downloader exists for exactly this and is the route Amazon's own help pages point to.
Open the app on your TV, choose Sign in with a code, and enter the six digits it shows under Sign in on TV in your account.
